UMMY ONE Side Story
Meeting Prussian Blue
It took a full two years for UMMY carbon fins to go from concept to launch, with dozens of sets of sample fins along the way... Without a factory of its own, UMMY negotiated, planned and developed with fin makers around the world, until it finally had a fateful meeting with Prussian Blue, a top fin maker from Taiwan.
Technology × Execution
The proven quality of Prussian Blue's fins, the innovation of the foot pockets they developed, and above all their willingness to flexibly meet UMMY's demanding requirements led UMMY to form a strategic partnership with them. It was the moment we became certain that combining UMMY's ability to deliver on customer needs with Prussian Blue's technology would create the very best fins.
The Fins UMMY Made Possible
UMMY set out to create fins that satisfy every diver who loves breath-hold diving, whether freedivers, skin divers or spearfishers. To make that happen, we spent a year of trial and error, rethinking design, color options, functionality, foot pockets and price from scratch, and succeeded in developing fins that UMMY's owner is truly proud of.
The Origin of the Name UMMY ONE
ONE is a word of beginnings, meaning starting from scratch, and it also means "number one," the very top. UMMY ONE was named with our commitment to never forget the first step we took as we keep moving forward, and our aim to become the most loved fins in the world.
What Makes UMMY ONE Special
When it comes to fins, lighter is better. While even the lightest carbon fins used to weigh around 600 g per foot, UMMY ONE weighs only about 400 g. Saving about 200 g greatly reduces the strain on divers. You'll feel the difference in every kick, whether skin diving, freediving training or competing. You'll be amazed at how light they are the moment you pick them up. And thanks to a special treatment of the foot pockets, they now float on the surface, so there's no need to worry about losing them in the ocean.
UMMY ONE's carbon layers are bonded using Prussian Blue's proprietary technology, giving the fins maximum efficiency and propulsion. The blade is 75 cm long with a 26° angle. A blade that is too long reduces kick efficiency and puts more strain on the legs. Prioritizing efficiency and ease of handling, UMMY ONE meets the needs of many divers with a blade length that delivers maximum efficiency in every kick and a 26° angle suited to every type of dive: surface swimming, horizontal movement underwater and vertical descents.
UMMY products must always be stylish. On UMMY ONE, the UMMY symbol is used in the blade tip and in the carbon layering design on the underside. Combined with a blade cut perfectly balanced with that symbol, the result is a truly one-of-a-kind, beautiful fin.
To meet the needs of many divers, you can choose between two logo types: BIG UMMY with a large logo and SMALL UMMY with a small logo. Each type is available in 5 colors.
Prussian Blue's new X1 foot pocket is a perfectly balanced work of art: easy to put on, comfortable to wear and pleasant to kick with. The foot pocket is also soft and very stretchy, so in most cases you can wear the same size barefoot or with 2 mm socks.

Carbon blades are lightweight and offer great propulsion, but they are very delicate. Hitting rocks or coral can crack or break them, so please handle them with care. Also, never jump in from a boat wearing them, as this may break the blades. After use, rinse them right away with fresh water and dry them in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
