The UMMY ONE side story
Meeting Prussian Blue
The UMMY carbon fins took a full two years from concept to launch, and along the way we went through dozens of sets of sample fins... With no factory of its own, UMMY negotiated, planned and developed with fin manufacturers around the world, until we finally had a fateful encounter with Prussian Blue, a top fin manufacturer in Taiwan.
Technology × Execution
The proven quality of Prussian Blue's fins, the innovation of the foot pocket they developed, and above all their willingness to flexibly meet UMMY's demanding requirements were the deciding factors that led UMMY to form a strategic partnership with them. It was the moment we became convinced that combining UMMY's ability to deliver on customer needs with Prussian Blue's technology would produce the best fins possible.
The fins UMMY made a reality
UMMY set out to create fins that would satisfy every diver who loves breath-hold diving, whether freedivers, skin divers or spearfishers. To make that happen, we spent a year of trial and error, rethinking everything from scratch: design, color variations, functionality, foot pocket and price. In the end, we succeeded in developing fins that the UMMY owner himself is fully satisfied with.
The origin of the name UMMY ONE
ONE is a word of beginnings, meaning to start from scratch, and it also means "number one", the top or the summit. UMMY ONE was named with our determination to always remember that very first step as we push forward, and our ambition to become the most loved fins in the world.
What makes UMMY ONE special
When it comes to fins, lighter is better. While even the lightest carbon fins have weighed around 600g per foot, UMMY ONE weighs just about 400g. Saving around 200g greatly reduces the strain on the diver. You will feel the difference in every kick, whether skin diving, freediving training or competing in freediving. You'll be amazed by how light they are the moment you pick them up. And thanks to a special treatment of the foot pocket, the fins now float on the surface, so you no longer have to worry about losing them to the sea.
UMMY ONE is made with carbon laminated using Prussian Blue's own special technology, giving fins that deliver maximum efficiency and maximum propulsion. The blade is 75cm long with a 26° angle. A blade that is too long reduces kicking efficiency and increases strain on the legs. Focusing on efficiency and ease of handling, UMMY ONE meets the needs of many divers with a blade length that delivers maximum efficiency in every kick, and a 26° angle suited to every kind of dive: surface swimming, horizontal movement underwater and vertical descents.
UMMY products must always be stylish. UMMY ONE features the UMMY symbol mark on the blade tip and in the carbon lamination pattern on the back. Combined with a blade cut perfectly balanced with that symbol mark, the result is a truly one-of-a-kind, beautiful fin.
To meet the needs of many divers, you can choose between two logo types: BIG UMMY with a large logo, or SMALL UMMY with a small logo. Each type is available in a wide choice of 5 colors.
The new X1 foot pocket from Prussian Blue is a work of art that perfectly balances ease of wear, comfort and kicking feel. The foot pocket is also soft and very stretchy, so you can generally wear the same size barefoot or with 2mm socks.

FAQ
As the fins are made to order, it takes approx. 1.5 to 2.5 months (it may be sooner or later than that), so please order with plenty of time to spare. Fins with white logos and the UMMY ONE Short generally have shorter lead times and can often be shipped in about one month.
Size exchanges are possible, but they involve the cost of the foot pocket plus round-trip shipping to Taiwan. To avoid choosing the wrong size, we recommend using our foot pocket rental service.
Yes, they can be replaced, although round-trip shipping to Taiwan will be charged.
Please choose your size using the EU and Japanese size references. The foot pocket stretches well, so with 2mm socks you can generally fit the same size. If you're unsure, use our foot pocket rental service. *Service available in Japan only
The blades are covered by a 3-year warranty from the date of order. Please be sure to keep your purchase details (order number and name). If a blade cracks or breaks under normal use, we will replace one pair free of charge. *As blades are sent to Taiwan, replacement may take 1–2 months. *Foot pockets and water rails are not covered by the warranty.
We accept returns and exchanges only if the item is defective or we sent the wrong item. We cannot accept returns or exchanges for personal reasons.
Carbon blades are lightweight and provide strong propulsion, but they are also very delicate. Hitting rocks or coral may cause cracks or breakage, so please handle them with care. Never jump in from a boat wearing the fins, as this may break the blades. After use, rinse them immediately with fresh water and dry them in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
