Tips for enjoying skin diving

Hello.
My name is Koyo and I'm a free diver from Okinawa.
This time, I would like to introduce the things I keep in mind to enjoy skin diving.
I hope this will be helpful for anyone who wants to improve their skills and enjoy skin diving more.
What I want to tell you this time is,Do not move excessivelyThat is it.
Many people who enjoy skin diving have probably thought at some point, "I wish I could stay underwater for longer."
To achieve this, there is no other way than practicing breath holding.Do not move excessivelyThat means it's a very short cut.
I can hear a lot of people saying, "I know that!"😂
However, I think you may have felt that putting this obvious idea into practice is not as easy as you thought.
So how can you avoid having to move too much?
it is,Review the weight amountThat is it.
In free diving, the amount of weight is often fine-tuned depending on how deep you dive and what your practice objectives are.
In fact, skin diving,It is very important to know whether you are using the right weight for your purpose and your body. This is an important point.
For example, if you want to stay at a depth of 6 meters and enjoy the view from there, if the weight is too heavy you will have to constantly repeat fin kicks to stay there, and conversely, if it is too light you will either have to try to stay there by dragging your hands toward the water surface, or you will float up to the surface without being able to stay there.
Either way, the more you try to stay at that depth, the faster you'll start to feel short of breath.
This is what I mean.
If you can use the right weight for your purpose, it will be easier to control the depth, reduce unnecessary movement, and ultimately make the lure last longer.🙌
For me, the ideal amount of weight is one that makes my body gradually sink when I exhale completely while floating on the surface of the water.
The amount of weight will vary depending on whether or not a wetsuit (or long sleeves) is being used and how worn it is.
Weight beltI often see people using weights of 500g, 1kg, and 2kg, but if you also add neck weights, you will have a wider range of options for adjusting the weight.
UMMY weight beltThe silicone strap is soft and flexible, so it tightens well and doesn't slip off easily. I love it because it doesn't slip off while I'm diving.😎
Finally, reducing unnecessary movement not only helps you hold your breath longer,
Looks like you're really good at it👏
I feel relaxed when swimming.👏
It looks great in videos too.👏
Next time you go diving, be mindful of the weight and avoid unnecessary movements.🤝
